Marissa grew up in sunny Southern California just a short bike ride from the beach and winter nights never dropped below 55 degrees. Her grandma began encouraging her to pursue her dreams of performing through pageants, dance and acting classes, and singing whenever possible! She ventured into the film/TV scene when she booked a Jiffy Peanut Butter commercial! She spent a few years experiencing the film/TV lifestyle from various aspects, but found her love for live theatre in a youth production of Annie where she played an 11 year old Miss Hannigan.
Throughout high school, Marissa not only performed with youth and local community theaters, but she played 14 years of competitive soccer and never missed a math test. When her senior calculus teacher found out she was going to a performing arts college, he was shocked and thought her genuine joy for calculus would definitely lead to a career in engineering. But alas, calculus became her hobby while performing took the reigns on her career.

Marissa went on to study at AMDA: College and Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Los Angeles where she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre. While at AMDA, she had the opportunity to study at their New York campus for one semester, and after experiencing the greatest city in the world first hand, she had no doubt in her mind that the "Big Apple" is where she would be one day.
After graduation she felt out the LA theatre scene for a couple years, and then decided it was time for a change. She packed her bags and made the decision to move to New York City… all in 48 hours.
Although it was the most spontaneous decision in her life, it could not have been more inspired. New York City has taught her more than she could have ever imagined, and she cannot wait to see what lies ahead in the years to come!
